John: rostered player?
Could this have anything to do with the showcasing of one #67 on the 1st line?
The Fro-man moving on maybe?

If I had to bet: 67, 25 or 29. Likely in that order.

Thanks for the update JJ.

Would this player they send East be a significant cap savings or just ridding themselves of an underused player (i.e. Mayers/Carcillo)?

You aren't gonna get crap for Mayers. Carcillo will likely not bring back the pick they'd need to do the Iggy deal, but he could get moved.

JJ, you said the deal may be " a roster player and a prospect or a top prospect and a decent prospect or a pick—but not a first rounder. " Why could they not meet in the middle and send a roster player and a top prospect for Iggy? i.e. Bolland/Stalberg and McNeill for Iggy and a pick?

Good to know the whole league thinks our GM is a dud.
No wonder nothing of significance ever gets done.

Figured Mayers is done, maybe gets a 7th rounder for a team desperate for depth

JJ,

I firmly expect NOTHING to be done by hawks brass to improve this club and Stan to throw us a "we like our team, we just need to be healthy" lines to the media and fans...

do you honestly see a deal within the next 48-72 hrs for something significant?

GM Stan Bowman lacks the organizational latitude to make decisions and act appropriately. The source's words: "is he actually steering the ship?"

We all know Stan wears the pants but McD picks them out.

Time is ticking Stan............ask McD for your big boy pants and make a splash.

The source's words: "is he actually steering the ship?"

Does this mean someone isn't letting him trade certain prospects?

Do any of those valuable tokens presently reside on a top 6 line?

Tell ya what, Matt. I suspect it is McCub—and too many hockey people—Gauthier, Scotty, Stewart, McIsaac (whose actual value has yet to be explained, beyond doing McDonough's bidding in "hockey ops"), Stanley, Q?

Stalberg, McNeil and a pick might get it done for Iggy....I could see the Flames having interest in Bolland as well, I think they would also have interest in Shaw.

Ha, well hey may or may not be good at his job but there may also be a decision by committee issue in the office where they need to get a green light from 14 different people after 35 presentations and crunching 254 different statistical outcomes.

Stan reminds of Stalberg. Its one thing to have speed but its another thing to actually deliver and put the puck in the net.

ie. Anybody can offer anything but can he get the deal done is the bigger question?
